In the summer, the experiment will be expanded to include the company’s own boutiques in North America. According to Gucci President and CEO Marco Bizzarri, the initiative will improve the customer experience.
It will be possible to pay for the purchase using a QR code that will be emailed to the customer.
Bitcoin, Ethereum, Wrapped Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Shiba Inu, Dogecoin and stablecoin pegged to five USD will be available for payments.
In case of returning an item, the house will return the funds in the same cryptocurrency in which the purchase was made.
Parent company Kering, in collaboration with creative agency Al Dente, has developed a Web 3.0 teaching game for holding employees. Earlier on Discord, Gucci announced that it has granted pre-order access to the collection for owners of NFTs from the SuperGucci and Gucci Grail series.
Cryptocurrency payments are also being tested by Off-White and Phillip Plein. An NFT gallery will appear in one of the latter’s stores in London, with the option to improve the token the customer uses in Decentraland.
Recall that in April 2022 on the Neuno market it became known that Gucci NFT collections will soon be released.
In May 2021, the company sold non-tradable tokens at Christie’s auction.
Previously, Gucci purchased a virtual piece of land in the metaverse of The Sandbox project.
