In the flood you wrote on Twitter, you stated that you work as a math teacher in a private institution and that the institution you work for has terminated your employment contract, citing the argument that “playing crypto” for your job. Has the institution in question explained how “playing crypto” relates to your business and why your choice of investment as an individual investor worries them?

First of all I have to say that it was a very surprising process. For the first time in my life, I encountered a process that started with the fact that the crypto phenomenon I did in my private life was not welcomed by the students and the feedback from the parents “Is your teacher interested in these things?” They said it would give the impression that I was scamming people. The next process is known, the termination of the unilateral employment contract.

At a time when teachers needed to be versatile, my contract was terminated after a conversation that started with “sir, you were playing crypto”. Their concern is based on the fact that crypto is seen as a scam.

Is there a legal basis for terminating your contract on the grounds that you are investing in the cryptocurrency markets? Under what laws, if any, did they terminate your contract?

Of course it has no legal basis. The contract was a contract with the right to terminate unilaterally. I thought about obtaining my rights through legal means, but I didn’t want my daughter and wife to experience the fatigue of this process.

Was there a restriction by the institution that teachers working within the institution were not allowed to use cryptocurrency markets as a financial investment tool or was there a warning about this issue before your contract was terminated?

There was no warning about this, there was only one conversation and at the end of the conversation I was told that my employment contract had been unilaterally terminated. There were no restrictions on their financial investments, nor should there be. In fact, investing is a process that people go through individually and make their own decisions. The real problem starts with crypto. As you know, after what happened on the THODEX stock market, watching those who are in the crypto sector in our country as scammers is like getting mad at fleas and burning the quilt, and that’s exactly what happened to me.

Is there a general perception that the education and similar professions are not welcome to invest in cryptocurrency markets?

We come across it very often. Those who hear that you trade in the crypto money market, even friendships, greet you with the perception of “the scammer has arrived, welcome”. In education, the process is starting to be presented a little differently. You are faced with thoughts like “What if he turns my kid into a ‘crypto man’ or he wants my money too”. Although these thoughts are not directly introduced to you, feel and understand with the experience of my craft. This is, of course, a sad situation.

Before you start working at a new school, do you think about asking the respective institution if this issue will be a problem by talking about your investment preference and your status as a crypto phenomenon, so as not to experience the same situation?

I have always preferred to be transparent, and always will. I will express this openly in my encounters with a new institution. If there is a problem, it is necessary to see it from the beginning and solve it. At the moment I have discussions with a few schools abroad and when I told them about this, they were surprised at first. Then they told me that there are projects where we can combine my financial experience with mathematics. In other words, the perspective abroad is very different and positive than in our country.

If all schools agree on this topic, would you risk quitting the crypto phenomenon or would you consider choosing another profession?

I don’t want to give up the phenomenon. I am happy in this ecosystem. I will continue, even if I go abroad. A man should be where he is happy and I am happy here. I think I will continue to teach and learn even if I turn to another profession. I don’t think teaching is a profession that is only done within the four walls of the classroom. In fact, I continue to teach in the field of science.

As a crypto phenomenon, do you think it is your responsibility to change this negative perception towards cryptocurrency markets?
