Russian President Vladimir Putin has included data on cryptocurrencies and tokens in the list of verified information on foreign property of election candidates at various levels. The decree was published on the official legal information portal.
Authorities must now report all family expenses for the purchase of digital financial assets (DFA) and digital currency. The validity of these data will be checked.
In the case of a DFA purchase, the candidate, along with the certificate, must provide “information about the details of entry into the information system” of the issuer of this token.
For transactions made with crypto money, “information about the identity number and date of the transaction” should be added to the report.
Every transaction with digital assets must be supported by documentation of the purchase amount, if any, or contain information about the other party of the transaction.
The decree enters into force from the date of its signing on 9 May.
Recall that in April, Putin signed a law obliging election candidates to disclose information about the costs of acquiring cryptocurrency and tokens on the territory of the Russian Federation.
