NiceHash Developers Bypass Mining Limit on Parts of Nvidia’s RTX 30 Series Graphics Cards LHR.
Using the QuickMiner utility, experts restored the full performance of most GPUs, with the exception of GeForce RTX 3050 and GeForce RTX 3080 12 GB, which use the new LHR algorithm.
Several third-party testers have confirmed the functionality of the utility. After unlocking, the performance of the RTX 3080 Ti reached almost 117 MH/s instead of the 80 MH/s previously available.
Data: NiceHash.
So far, the method only works on Windows computers and supports the only Dagger Hashimoto (Ethash) algorithm.
Recall that in February 2021, Nvidia released an updated series of LHR RTX 3000 video cards, in which the power of devices is halved when mining Ethereum. Therefore, the company planned to focus the GPU on the needs of gamers.
But later, miners learned to return video cards to up to 70% of their original performance and bypass the blocking by mining two digital coins at the same time.
In March 2022, Goofish, a popular Chinese secondhand trading platform, released Nvidia’s dedicated graphics cards that let you bypass the mining limiter with a mobile processor.
