At the DockerCon conference, they announced the launch of the Git Open Source Hodler (GOSH) project, a blockchain for storing and managing source code libraries. It runs on the Everscale protocol.

“The Git systems available today are not secure and were not originally designed for open source projects. Software management always involves handing over code to a central party, and until now it has not been possible to manage code libraries through the community. GOSH is changing that by allowing developers to convert Git repositories into DAOs and create a system for building collective consensus.

Any changes in the repository are recorded and stored on the chain. The creators’ goal is to monitor and verify new additions to the code, rather than relying on social metrics like stars and ratings. All software items in libraries on the new blockchain can be traced back to the source code.

GOSH became a member of the Docker Extensions program and the GOSH Docker extension was also published as part of the project. This way, developers can confirm that the app container was written using only components from the original smart contracts.

The new blockchain platform is already used by developers from Amaze and BitRezus.

Previously, Amaze has partnered with Everscale to bring NFT support to the website building platform without having to write any code.
