The group of companies, which includes investment platform Capital.com and cryptocurrency exchange Currency.com, has announced the appointment of Peter Hetherington as its new CEO. This is stated in the official press release.

In this post, he will replace Jonathan Squires, who worked with companies at an early stage of their growth.

Subject to regulatory approval, Hetherington will take over the new position from May 16. It will supervise the entry of the group of companies into new markets in accordance with local regulatory requirements.

Peter Hetherington has over 25 years of wealth management and brokerage experience. He previously served as CEO of Schroders Personal Wealth, a joint venture between Lloyds Banking Group and Schroders. Beginning in 1994, he has devoted most of his career to working at IG Group, where he served as CEO from 2015 to 2018.

Hetherington holds a BA in Economics from the University of Nottingham and a MA in Finance from the London Business School.

Members of the group, Capital.com and Currency.com, offer users the opportunity to trade contracts for difference (CFDs) and cryptocurrencies, respectively. Shares.com, the share trading platform, will soon join the group of companies.

Recall that in August 2021, representatives of the investment company VP Capital purchased shares of the Larnabel Ventures fund in Currency.com and Capital.com. They said the deal took more than a year to complete and required approval from several international financial regulators.
