Unknown people who created the map with the visualization of the leaked data of Yandex.Food users added a new piece of information to the map.
On March 23, a card containing information from Yandex.Food customers was discovered and distributed by several Telegram channels. Users’ names, shipping addresses, phone numbers, and six months’ spending turned out to be in the public domain.
Yandex reported the leak on March 1. According to the company, it occurred due to “the bad faith of one of the employees.”
The court fined Yandex.Food 60,000 rubles for leaking user data.
Despite the fact that the site is blocked in the Russian Federation, it continues to work, and its creators supplement the map with new data. Now the traffic police show information from VTB, SDEK, Wildberries, Beeline, Avito and other sources affected by the leaks, writes Forbes.
“We saw how the price for our privacy was not appreciated and we decided to launch a new version of the site. The court fined Yandex.Food 60,000 rubles for leaking customer data, that is, our delivery addresses and personal data, 0.009 rubles per user (6,397,035 users).
Recall that last year, the personal data of about 2 million Beeline customers became public.
