Cryptocurrency broker Voyager Digital has raised nearly $60 million in a private settlement. The funding round was led by Sam Bankman-Freed’s Alameda Research.
Members include Barry Silbert’s Digital Currency Group, Mike Novogratz’s Galaxy Digital and Blockdaemon. Finance firm BTIG served as sole agent and bookrunner.
Voyager Digital uses funding for company-wide purposes.
The full completion of the settlement will allow the firm to increase its liquidity to over $225 million, of which approximately $50 million will be in cryptocurrency funds.
“The additional capital will support the implementation of our strategic plan. “Deepening relationships with key industry leaders will help us achieve our goals of entering the Web 3.0 and NFT space, as well as expanding existing programs,” said Founder and CEO Steven Ehrlich.
Voyager traded at 3 CAD ($2.34) per common share.
On Monday, May 16, the firm announced its financial results for the first quarter. Revenue was $102.7 million, up 70% year on year. The company reported an operating loss of $43 million.
Voyager shares fell to $2.25 on Monday, from Friday’s closing price of $3.1. After a rebound, companies are trading around $2.32 at the time of writing.

Voyager reported that compared to the previous quarter, the number of users increased by 9% (3.5 million), and funded accounts – 11% (1.2 million). However, the volume of assets on the platform fell from $6 billion to $5.8 billion.
In October 2021, Alameda Research invested $75 million in Voyager.
Recall that in January 2022, the Canadian company became known to be among the providers of crypto loan services that the US Securities and Exchange Commission is investigating.
