Online broker Robinhood has announced the creation of an unsupervised Web3 wallet that will give users full control over cryptocurrencies and direct access to DeFi and NFT segments.

The new multi-chain application will be independent of the company’s current platform.

According to the announcement, customers will be able to hold and access private keys. dapps for:

• trading and exchanges without network commissions;
• Connection to NFT storage and marketplaces;
• generating income through crypto assets.

Robinhood has opened a waiting list for early access to the product.

“We believe that cryptocurrencies are more than just an asset class. “Delivering the low cost and great design people have come to expect from Robinhood, our Web3 wallet will allow you to capitalize on the possibilities of an open financial system,” said Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev.

The company plans to begin beta testing the app in the summer and have the product fully rolled out by the end of 2022.

For some users, the custodial wallet testing program started in January.

Recall that in April Robinhood acquired Ziglu startup, which developed its own application for storing and managing cryptocurrencies.
