The document, which received 40 votes, was voted against 12 and will be sent to the Senate for future consideration.
According to CoinDesk, the current bill requires miners to obtain licenses and permits for industrial electricity consumption. The initiative also provides for the creation of a registry for an individual or legal entity that provides services for the trading or storage of cryptocurrencies.
In June 2021, Rehala announced a bill related to Bitcoin. Later, the congressman clarified that Paraguay does not plan to grant legal tender status to digital gold, but will develop an “effective” regulation for cryptocurrencies.
Recall that the President of Panama, Laurentino Cartiso, did not support the bill passed by the Parliament to regulate the use of cryptocurrencies in its current form.
