Thai police detained six Taiwanese in Bangkok. According to the investigation, they deceived more than 500 people with a fake cryptocurrency investment scheme, according to the Bangkok Post.
In addition, detainees are accused of illegally trading foreign currency without a license. Four of them were also charged with trespassing, a fifth with drug-related offenses, and a sixth with an expired visa.
The two detainees were wanted based on arrest warrants issued in Taiwan.
Laptop computers and mobile phones belonging to the group were also seized during the search.
Recall that from April 1, 2022, Thai regulators recommended that businesses not accept payments in digital assets.
