The National Bank of Kazakhstan is studying the cryptocurrency market, but believes it is too early to talk about the legalization of crypto assets. This was written in the local press by the head of the Central Bank, Galymzhan Pirmatov.
According to him, the regulator plans to get the “maximum benefit” from the new technologies.
The head of the Central Bank said that the Central Bank was impressed by decentralized finance innovations:
“We do not run the issue of miners or any particular part. We are interested in the innovation opportunities that these new technologies offer us. We will therefore conduct these discussions in a way that our decisions do not adversely affect macro stability and the interests of financial services consumers.”
Pirmatov also said that by the end of June, the Central Bank will determine the decision-making methodology for launching digital tenge.
Recall that in 2020, the Central Bank of Kazakhstan is considering creating a digital currency. At the end of last year, the National Bank reported the results of its asset test.
