American Forbes surveyed 65 “the richest people in the world” and found that almost 30% of them invested in crypto assets.

The publication noted that this figure is higher than investors without billions of dollars worth of wealth.

About 18% of respondents reported that they hold at least 1% of their wealth in cryptocurrencies. Many invest in the industry as an experiment.

80% of billionaires who invest in cryptocurrencies said they have invested less than a tenth of their wealth. 3.2% of respondents invested more than half of their wealth in digital assets.

Another 10% said they do not directly invest in cryptocurrencies, but support industry-focused companies.

Sam Bankman-Fried, CEO of FTX, one of the survey participants, said that between 76% and 100% of his $20.6 billion capital is in crypto assets.

Billionaires are increasingly entering the industry. For example, Mark Cuban, who previously criticized bitcoin, is now actively investing in cryptocurrencies.

“It is no different than investing in stocks, bonds and other assets. “My tech stocks outperformed my cryptocurrency,” he said.

Real estate billionaire John Sobrato has announced that he does not invest directly in digital currencies, but focuses on Andreessen Horowitz’s fund. That’s how he got involved in the industry, he says, avoiding “brain overheating from being in an asset class you don’t understand.”

Experts believe it is ideal for billionaires to experiment with cryptocurrencies and has the resources to do so:

“They are not worried about what will happen to the bitcoin price next month.”

Recall that in April Forbes presented a rating of the richest representatives of the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry.
