Tether has launched the USDT stablecoin on the Tezos blockchain platform. This is the twelfth network this asset is available on, project representatives told ForkLog.
“We are excited to launch USDT on Tezos, offering a growing and vibrant community access to the most liquid, stable and reliable stablecoin in the digital token market. Tezos is growing rapidly and we believe this integration will go a long way towards the long-term growth of the platform,” said Paolo Ardoino, CTO of Tezos.
In addition to Tether’s stablecoin Tezos, it is available on Bitcoin Cash’s Ethereum, Solana, Avalanche, Algorand, Tron, Omni, EOS, Liquid Network, Kusama, and Standard Ledger protocols. In May 2022 the asset was also published on Polygon.
According to the company, USDT has a market cap of over $72.5 billion. Most of the asset’s supply comes from the Tron and Ethereum blockchains ($38.73 billion and $36.81 billion, respectively).
Recall that on May 26, Tether launched the MXNT pegged to Mexican peso stablecoin.
