Analyst firm Chainalysis has launched a 24/7 hotline to support organizations affected by ransomware and cryptocurrency-related cyberattacks.
Chainalysis experts will track and tag funds in transit. They will also help victims contact law enforcement to recover assets that have already been stolen.
The hotline service is separate from Chainalysis’ analytics products – victims do not need to be active customers at the time of the attack.
The company expects the initiative to make it harder for criminals to cash out stolen cryptocurrencies and make them easier to catch.
Overall, analysts see the continued rise in cyberattacks as a barrier to building trust in cryptocurrencies.
Recall that in 2021, attackers targeting the cryptocurrency industry stole a record $14 billion, according to Chainalysis.
