Peng Zhong, CEO of Ignite (formerly Tendermint), has resigned after working for the company for more than seven years. He has been the CEO since May 2020.
“Today is my last day on Ignite. Thanks for the friendship in building the ecosystem. I am honored to be a part of this team and community. I will miss you,” Zhong wrote.

In February, Tendermint, the company behind the Cosmos project, was rebranded as Ignite as one of the co-founders used the original name for their new venture.
In 2014, founder Jae Kwon registered Tendermint and left the company to start the Virgo project in 2020. In 2022, he took back ownership of the brand for a new firm.
Recall that in April Ignite launched a $150 million accelerator focused on Web3 projects. Partners include Alameda Research, KuCoin Ventures, Hashkey Capital, OKX Blockdream Venture and others.
