The study involved 950 participants.
Compared to institutional investors, there were more skeptics among retail investors. Almost a quarter called their first cryptocurrency “garbage” (18% among professional market participants).
The same percentage was not in favor of digital gold in the “open-minded but skeptical” and “skeptical, but participating in one way or another” options – 27% versus 32% and 22% versus 23%, respectively.
Respondents expressed confidence that recent developments in the crypto market will prompt regulators to tighten their surveillance over the industry. This can increase trust and lead to further popularization of digital assets.
Most respondents expressed confidence in the strong positions of Bitcoin and Ethereum over the next five years, despite central banks being actively preparing to launch CBDC.
Only 9% of study participants see NFTs as an investment opportunity. For the rest, immutable tokens are art projects and status symbols whose old hype will no longer return.
Recall that Mike Novogratz, head of Galaxy Digital, doubted that the price of the first cryptocurrency was reduced to $ 13,000.
Earlier, Ruchir Sharma, chairman of management company Rockefeller International, stated that for bitcoin to be sustainable again, it needs to get rid of excessive leverage.
