Blockchain gaming operator Animoca Brands has raised $75.32 million, with the company’s preliminary valuation reaching $5.9 billion.
Animoca Brands is pleased to announce that it has completed a capital increase of US$75.32 million (approximately US$104.57 million). The current increase is the second tranche of the funding process.

The funding follows a January round that raised approximately $359 million. The delay for the second tranche was driven by the need for additional compliance reviews.
Companies that support Animoca Brands include Kingsway Capital, Alpha Wave Ventures, 10T, SG Spring Limited Partnership Fund, Generation Highway Ltd, Cosmic Summit Investments Limited, and Liberty City Ventures.
The firm will use the funds raised to fund further strategic acquisitions, product development, digital property licenses and the promotion of open metadata.
“Digital property rights represent a generational shift that defines society, affecting everyone on the internet and laying the groundwork for the emergence of clear metadata,” said Yat Siu, Chairman and Co-Founder of Animoca Brands.
The Hong Kong-based firm is the publisher of a number of games such as Sandbox, Crazy Kings and Crazy Defense Heroes, as well as intellectual property-based digital products. Animoca Brands has several subsidiaries including Blowfish Studios, Quidd, GAMEE, nWay, Pixowl, Forj, Lympo, Grease Monkey Games, Eden Games, Darewise, Notre Game, and TinyTap.
The company actively invests in Web3 projects. Its portfolio includes over 340 positions, including Colossal, Axie Infinity, OpenSea, Dapper Labs (NBA Top Shot), Yield Guild Games, Harmony, Alien Worlds, Star Atlas, and more.
Recall that in the first quarter of 2022, the volume of investments in blockchain games was $ 2.5 billion, versus $ 4 billion in the entire previous year.
