In the five years since its inception, Binance’s user base has reached 120 million, and the company-backed BNB Chain network has processed more than 2.4 billion transactions since 2020. Changpeng Zhao, head of the cryptocurrency exchange, said this.
Binance began serving customers in July 2017. During this period, the platform “exceeded its wildest expectations,” according to Zhao.
The head of the exchange noted that its staff has grown by more than 200 times and that more than 1,200 projects are currently running on the BNB Chain. He shared other indicators of the ecosystem:
- Binance has issued more than 1.7 million crypto cards in the European region. The volume of plastic payments exceeded 2 billion dollars;
- Approximately 17 million transactions with a total volume of 12 billion dollars were processed through the Binance Pay payment system;
- The number of weekly users of the Binance NFT market has reached 600,000. I GO reached $1 billion;
- From January to June 2022, the number of active users of Binance Earn increased from 3.7 million to 4.9 million.
Zhao also revealed that the company has raised 2.88 million BTC (~$52.24 billion) for charity. 1.8 million people benefited from the related programs.
The Binance president stated that over the next five years, the exchange will focus on creating and developing products that “provide tangible benefits to people.” He added that the company will collaborate with regulators and assist other industry players.
Remember, according to Zhao, Binance aims to help industry participants experiencing a “slight liquidity crunch” and is interviewing more than 50 companies.
