Mining company CleanSpark purchased 1061 Whatsminer M30S devices. With a total hash rate of around 93 PH/s, the equipment is already mining cryptocurrencies at hosting provider Coinmint’s facility.

The firm noted that it purchased miners at a “significantly discounted price” compared to those set in the spot market just a few months ago. This is the second major piece of hardware purchased by CleanSpark in about a month.

“Immediately following the market downturn in June, the company signed a contract to purchase 1,800 Antminer S19 XP bitcoin miners at an exceptionally discounted price,” the press release said.

The mining equipment market now offers “unprecedented opportunities,” according to CleanSpark CEO Zack Bradford.

“Our proven hybrid approach to colocation while expanding our own mining capacity puts us in an excellent position for sustainable growth,” he added.

In the last six months, the company has increased its computing power by 47% and bitcoin production by 50% over the same period.

“These are important KPI Emphasize that our growth has outstripped both the global hash rate and network difficulty adjustments. We believe that our operational strategy, which focuses on efficiency, uptime and results, will enable these indicators to improve continuously.”

Recall that in April, CleanSpark pulled in $35 million in debt financing secured by 3336 new Antminer S19j Pro devices.

In October 2021, the company sold some of the mined bitcoins to get funding to purchase 4,500 Antminer S19 units.
