British auction house Christie’s has announced that it has launched a venture capital fund focused on technology companies developing art products.
Initially, the Christie’s Ventures team will focus on three areas: Web3, art-related financial digital products, and solutions that enable “smooth interaction with art objects.”
The initial investment from the fund was received by LayerZero Labs, which developed a cross-chain protocol.
Recall that Christie actively interacts with the digital art segment. Sold at auction in March 2021 NFTs from artist Beeple for $69.3 million in May – nine NFTs from the CryptoPunks collection.
