In August 2022, Google will test the next generation AR glasses in real conditions. This was announced by the product manager of the augmented and virtual reality division of tech giant Juston Payne.

“Real-world testing will allow us to better understand how these devices can help people in their daily lives,” he wrote.

Payne said the tests will help developers take into account factors such as weather and busy intersections that are difficult to reproduce indoors.

Testing will be limited to a few dozen Googlers and trusted partners. The prototypes will be equipped with cameras, microphones and in-lens displays. Developers will appreciate the audio and visual experience for functions such as translation, transcription and navigation with their help.
