Cryptocurrency exchange Gemini has received approval from the Central Bank of Ireland to operate as a service provider in the digital asset market.

Users will have access to the trading and storage of more than 100 cryptocurrencies and will be able to fund their accounts in Euros and British Pounds.

Gemini opened an office in Dublin in 2021. A year ago, the platform applied for an electronic money operator license. The company was authorized in this capacity in March 2022.

Recall that the second wave of blackouts to the platform in July was known. In total, Gemini’s staff has been reduced by 17%.

At the beginning of the year, the company acquired trading technology provider Omniex and acquired cryptocurrency portfolio management platform BITRIA.
