The developers of the meme-cryptocurrency Dogecoin (DOGE) have released a new version of the software. The latest version is designed to improve the security and efficiency of the network, as well as improve the user interface.
The project team recommended that all network participants install the Dogecoin Core 1.14.6 client.
The developers emphasized that the latest software includes many security-focused fixes. In particular, they improved the reliability of the process loading system and optimized memory management in high traffic conditions.
The update also changes a number of default settings regarding network charges:
- commission set at 0.01 DOGE for each kilobyte of a transaction;
- the transmitted “dust” (dust) limit – 0.01 DOGE (formerly 1 DOGE);
- Fees for “change by fee” transactions – 0.001 DOGE.
According to the developers, they changed these settings to reduce the vulnerability of the network to spam attacks.
Recall that in April 2022, Dogecoin co-founder Billy Markus called for the creation of a cross-chain bridge with Ethereum.
