The Rinkeby Nitro migration was successful, the chain is back online! 🟢🚀
Teams can now continue testing their protocols as they please!
Please note that partner infrastructure will be back in the next few days. 🛠️

If the tests on the Rinkeby testnet are successful, the project team will deploy the update to the mainnet within two weeks.
At the heart of Nitro is the WebAssembly Transaction Authentication System (WASM). This allows you to customize and compile mall using standard tools and programming languages.
The update also integrates the core of Geth, one of the most popular Ethereum clients, into the solution. This is expected to simplify the L2 integration process as developers will not need to further optimize the various parameters.
“Basically, we are now running Geth on the second layer of Ethereum and implementing a WASM-compiled anti-fraud system on the main Geth engine,” the statement said.
After Nitro’s update, Anytrust Chains service, which focuses on applications with “special needs”, will appear on Arbitrum’s mainnet. It will allow them to maintain the required level of security and lower their transaction fees.
Arbitrum CEO Steven Goldfeder described Nitro as the “best available” Ethereum scaling technology right now.
Arbitrum Nitro is arguably the best Ethereum scaling technology available today.
But there is no doubt that we will improve this over time.
Will these improvements include zk proofs? Maybe. May be not.
We will use whatever technology is good. This is our guarantee.

Recall that in January 2022, Arbitrum experienced a malfunction – the mesh stopped producing blocks due to an error in the Sequencer smart contract.
