The developers of the Zilliqa blockchain have restarted the project network after a failure in smart contracts. Platform blocks were not processed due to a segmentation error.
Zilliqa network stoped Build blocks on July 29. According to the statement, the cause of the failure was the malfunctioning of one of the functions of the Scilla language on which the project was based. The error caused server operation to be interrupted on mining nodes.
“Scilla depends on the secp256k1 encryption library. After its deployment, a segmentation error occurred when one of the parameters was out of range,” the developers explained.
The team has released a new version of the software that uses the corrected secp256k1 build. Update checked on testnet – platform correctly handles out-of-range parameters.
Zilliqa was launched in 2017. The project is known for its early applications of sharding technology, a horizontal data partitioning method, to increase blockchain throughput.
Recall that in July 2022, the Celo blockchain platform suspended work during the deployment of Uniswap smart contracts on the network.
