Meta Corporation has expanded a pilot project to 100 more countries to integrate immutable tokens (NFTs) into social Instagram.
“Today we are launching an international expansion to 100 countries in Africa, the Asia-Pacific region, the Middle East and North and South America. Additionally, we now support the Coinbase Wallet and Dapper Wallet link, as well as the ability to host digital collections published on the Flow blockchain.”
Meta started a pilot project to integrate NFT into Instagram in May 2022. Selected users were allowed to set unchangeable tokens as their profile photo.
As part of the initiative, the social network supports assets on the Ethereum, Polygon and Flow blockchains. Rainbow, MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Coinbase Wallet, and Dapper Wallet wallets are available for connectivity. In the initial announcement, Meta promised to integrate the Phantom, but has yet to do so.
The service does not include commission.
Recall that in the second quarter of 2022, the loss of the meta-universe-focused division of Meta exceeded $2.8 billion.
