Social content platform Reddit has partnered with the Arbitrum platform and FTX exchange to implement the Community Points program on its second-tier network.
Reddit will transfer tokens included in the program to Arbitrum Nova. The new solution is specifically designed for gaming and social apps.
“This is an open, public network where anyone can run scores, contracts and apps,” said Steven Goldfeder, Arbitrum CEO.
Well-known DeFi projects like Maker and SushiSwap are also exploring the possibility of launching Nova-based assets, according to The Block.
As part of the partnership with the FTX exchange, the FTX Pay payment system will be used to pay for gas and transfer social platform tokens.
The Community Points program was launched in 2020 to reward subdirectory users for quality content and community engagement.
At the same time, Reddit asked Ethereum developers to help scale the program.
In 2021, Reddit announced that Community Points were transferred to the Arbitrum network.
The program tokens are currently running on the Ethereum-based Rinkeby testnet.
Recall that in July Arbitrum developers started testing the Nitro update, which was designed to reduce transaction fees and increase system efficiency.
