Financial conglomerate Citigroup has posted jobs for two digital asset risk managers.
One will specialize in decentralized finance, stablecoins and cryptocurrencies. The other will focus on CBDCs, digital securities and enterprise blockchains.
Both managers must develop a unified approach to managing risk and responding to new initiatives, visions and strategic partnerships in their fields.
Tarun Chitra, CEO of the Gauntlet crypto financial risk modeling platform, explains that risk management in DeFi is much more complex than in traditional finance. Based on its job description, he suggested that Citi primarily seeks market researchers, not technical managers.
At the same time, the banking giant is recruiting digital asset specialists in the context of liquidity management and custody technologies.
Recall that in November 2021, Citigroup announced the launch of a cryptocurrency-focused division within its corporate customer service group. It was planned to recruit 100 experts to work in the new business unit.
In June, the financial conglomerate began working on a pilot project of a platform for storing and managing digital assets, together with infrastructure company Metaco.
