Collector Vis.eth has purchased gold NFT Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) #5383 for 777 ETH ($1.5 million).

The previous owner of the token bought it for $242,000 on August 1, 2021, and thus his profit from the transaction was approximately 682 ETH ($1.2 million).

Vis.eth said in a comment to the Bored Ape Gazette that she decided to get the “golden monkey” because the colorway is rare. According to data provider Rarity Tools, #5383 is the 320th rarest NFT in a 10,000-piece collection.

“777 ETH is the right price. Yuga will be the first successful social universe,” the investor added.

Over the past few months, Vis.eth has spent millions on Yuga Labs’ Otherdeeds metadatabase. Its two wallets currently contain more than 60 project NFTs.

The #5383 trade is not a record, although it took place during the slump in trading volumes in the NFT market. In July 2021, Bored Ape #3749 sold for $2.9 million.

As a rule, NFTs from the BAYC collection are sold much cheaper. According to CryptoSlam, the average token sale price over the last seven days is around $195,000 with a minimum of 72 ETH.

Recall that in early August, the Italian fashion house Gucci added support for the ApeCoin cryptocurrency.
