Invesco, one of the largest investment companies in the USA, announced that it has launched a fund for investments in companies focused on virtual worlds. Reported by Investment Week.

The size of the Invesco Metaverse Fund was not disclosed. It will focus on seven key areas:

  • next generation operating and computer systems;
  • equipment and devices that provide access to the metadata store;
  • bridge networks;
  • immersive platforms developed using artificial intelligence;
  • blockchain;
  • media exchange for interoperability;
  • services and assets that contribute to the digitization of the real economy.

“It is estimated that virtual and augmented reality could drive the global economy to grow by 1.4 trillion pounds by 2030,” said Tony Roberts, one of the directors of the structure.

In November 2021, Invesco announced the addition of Xetra from the Deutsche Börse structure to its bitcoin list.ETP with physical support.

Previously, the company had refused to launch an exchange-traded fund based on bitcoin futures on the eve of the start of trading for a similar product from ProShares.

Recall that in May 2022, former senior executives of Binance Lin Zhang and Wayne Fu created a $100 million multi-strategy fund focused on metaverses.
