Accused of laundering stolen assets from the Bitfinex bitcoin exchange, Heather Morgan has broken the six-month silence. She stated that she is not involved in any of the crypto money projects.

“Any cryptocurrency or NFT project using my name or image is a scam that I do not condone,” he wrote.

Previously, Morgan has positioned himself as a rap artist and an artist specializing in collage, sculpture, painting and fashion design. The post published on August 23 is the first post since February 2022. Then the US authorities announced that he was taken into custody.

Along with her husband, Ilya Lichtenstein, Morgan became a defendant in the 2016 Bitfinex exchange hack and laundering of 119,754 BTC stolen. They face up to 25 years in prison.

Representatives of the US Department of Justice also announced the seizure of the largest digital assets in the history of the ministry – 94,636 BTC ($3.6 billion at the time).

Morgan, who was released on $3 million bail on Feb. 15, has no substantial evidence against him other than “allegedly received money in connection with the case,” according to the court.

Recall that online cinema Netflix announced a documentary series about Morgan and Liechtenstein.
