Cryptocurrency payments are superior to other forms of payment not because of their ability to resist censorship but because of their convenience. This was stated by the founder of Ethereum Vitalik Buterin.
“People continue to underestimate how well crypto payments outperform others, not even because of censorship resistance, but simply because they are so much more affordable. A huge push for international trade and philanthropy, and sometimes even local payments,” he wrote.
Buterin stressed that he did not underestimate the importance of resisting restrictions. According to him, he only publishes personal experience, showing that digital assets are the best tools compared to “alternatives currently available.”
The Ethereum founder also added that the adoption and integration that will make cryptocurrencies “really suitable for semi-large international payments” depends on “trusted neutrality.” According to him, censorship resistance is part of the latter.
Earlier, Butrin explained Ethereum’s potential to reach 100,000 transactions per second.
