On Saturday, September 3, unidentified individuals hacked a South Korean government YouTube channel, renamed it SpaceX Invest, and posted fake videos of Elon Musk discussing cryptocurrencies. It is reported by Yonhap News Agency.

An official from South Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism told the agency that control of the canal was restored that same day. At the time of writing, it is not available. According to the official, the hackers managed to get hold of the account credentials.

Google confirmed to Yonhap that the government channel had indeed been hacked. The company added that they are investigating the incident.

On Sunday, the media also reported that the Twitter account of the Venezuelan division of consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) had been hacked. On the night of September 4, it started posting links to a site allegedly owned by Ripple.

Data: excitement.

The site promotes the “issuance” of the XRP cryptocurrency. Users are advised to follow a malicious link to obtain the asset. At the time of writing, phishing tweets remain on the PwC Venezuela page.

Recall that in May 2022, scammers spread a deep fake Mask on Twitter, in which they “call to invest” in an obvious scam.
