Attackers hacked Twitter account audit firm PwC Venezuela to promote a fake XRP gift on behalf of Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse.
Eight hours after the incident, management was able to restore access to the page and remove the phishing links.
According to The Block, during this time hackers posted 14 such materials.
At the time of writing, the most recent post is dated September 2. The account has 37.1 thousand subscribers.
Recall that in April 2020, Ripple and Garlinghouse sued YouTube. They accused the platform of damaging reputation for inaction against scammers promoting fake XRP token gifts on their behalf.
Garlinghouse recently denied CryptoLeaks allegations that there was collusion between him and law firm Roche Freedman to fund a campaign to fight rivals.
