Popular US investment and trading app Robinhood has added support for four new cryptocurrencies: Solana, Polygon, Compound, and Shiba Inu. The company announced this on its blog.
Robinhood explained that while users can only buy and sell these crypto assets, the ability to replenish wallets and withdraw funds will appear later.
“Over the past year, our customers have consistently asked for two things: the ability to send and receive their own money, and a wider choice of cryptocurrencies. In response to the initial request, we have already activated crypto wallets for everyone on the waiting list, i.e. more than 2 million people. We are now happy to tackle the next item,” the company stressed.
Brokerage Leader Steve Quirk noted that when choosing coins at Robinhood, they were judged by “a strict set of rules.” According to him, the platform should remain a safe and educational space.
Recall that in July 2021, Robinhood co-founder Vlad Tenev called cryptocurrencies the cornerstone of the company’s development.
