The attackers hijacked the Instagram account of The Sandbox metadatabase and placed a phishing link in its description. Users were warned not to interact with the profile until the project regained access.

Representatives of the project confirmed the fact of hacking in the presence of 2FA authentication and other security measures. They contacted the platform and urged users not to follow the posted links.

Recall that the other day, attackers hacked the Twitter account of audit firm PwC Venezuela to promote the fake distribution of XRP on behalf of Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse.
