The Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation has sent proposals to the Ministry of Finance on the regulation of cryptocurrencies and mining, writes Gazeta.Ru, citing the press service of the ministry.

The ministry has proposed to set a threshold for electricity use for individual miners. The details of the calculation have not yet been developed.

In addition, the Ministry of Economic Development made an attempt to connect mining farms to energy sources at low rates. According to representatives of the department, such tariffs should work regardless of the port.

The ministry proposed allowing cryptocurrency mining activities in regions with constant electricity surplus, such as Irkutsk, Murmansk, Novosibirsk regions, Khabarovsk and Krasnoyarsk regions, as well as Khakassia.

Recall that the Ministry of Energy proposed to introduce regional quotas for mining, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Construction of the Russian Federation to create an experimental legal regime for the production of cryptocurrencies.

Anatoly Aksakov, chairman of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market, believes that mining in the Russian Federation can only be allowed for legal entities, while the Ministry of Finance speaks of the absurdity of banning home mining.
