Despite the overall cooling of the market, the number of NFTs issued on the Solana blockchain has increased significantly. The Block analysts said on September 7 that the figure had reached 312,000.

At the same time, transaction volumes of collectible assets on the network have also increased. On September 6, the amount was 373,760 SOL (~$13 million), the highest daily value since May.

Against this background, Magic Eden, the largest NFT platform in the network in the overall rating of marketplaces, has increased its market share since the beginning of the month. The indicator rose from 12% to 36.6% (as of 7 September).

A Twitter user noted that Solana has surpassed all blockchains in terms of trading volume, including the traditional leader in the Ethereum segment.

Metaplex marketplace co-founder Stephen Hess, in a commentary on the post, suggested that the low entry threshold for creators plays a role.

“It’s very similar to cold calling – a lot of people didn’t take the Solana NFT field seriously. But we’ve seen an improvement in self-confidence in the past weeks,” he said.

According to Hess, thanks to the platform’s new program, users will be able to extract “one million NFTs for 50 SOLs”. At the time of writing, it costs 0.3 SOL (~$10.4) to mint a collectible coin on the site.

Recall that in September, Solana-based startup Dust Labs, creator of the y00ts and DeGods NFT collections, raised $7 million for strategic investments.
