The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME Group) has launched options on Ethereum.
The contract is a futures worth 50 ETH.
“As market participants look forward to the Merger on Ethereum, potentially a game changer for one of the largest cryptocurrency networks, interest in Ethereum derivatives is growing. Tim McCourt, Head of Stocks and Forex Products at CME Group, said the launch of our new options contracts on Ethereum is particularly timely to provide the community with another important tool for accessing and managing Ethereum.
According to him, the trading volume of Ethereum futures has increased by 43% since its launch.
