The initiative was implemented by a subsidiary of LVC Corporation, which manages Line’s cryptocurrency business.
In partnership with major Japanese entertainment company Yoshimoto Kogyo, the market will offer 40,000 different NFTs. Specifically, tokens in the form of characters and videos from popular anime series like Patlabor the Mobile Police.
Purchased NFTs will be stored in the LINE BitMAX wallet.
Earlier, Japanese e-commerce giant Rakuten launched the NFT marketplace.
Line announced the launch of its own public blockchain Link Chain and a cryptocurrency called Link in 2018. That same year, the company launched the Bitbox cryptocurrency exchange in Singapore.
In 2019, Line opened BitMax, a regulated digital asset platform to users in Japan.
