The option is implemented using the Snaps developer tool. This system works in an isolated environment and allows anyone to expand the capabilities of MetaMask.

“For example, Snaps is new API Support various blockchain protocols or replace existing functionality in MetaMask,” the tool’s description says.
In March, MetaMask owner ConsenSys announced that the monthly active users of the wallet exceeded 30 million.
Recall that Joseph Lubin, chairman and founder of ConsenSys, hinted at the possibility of MetaMask owning its own token.
However, Jacob Kantale, head of the project’s operations department, warned that users should not count on a generous airdrop in this situation.
