Bitcoin exchange Coinbase has announced that it is issuing a Visa debit card for US residents with the possibility of receiving up to 4% cryptocurrency cashback on every purchase.

Hawaii state residents will not be able to order the card.

There are no transaction fees for the Coinbase Card. There are no service fees, no credit checks and no registration requirements.

Bitcoin exchange earns from spread when converting to US dollars. Its size is specified in the user agreement.

Debit card holders will be able to change the cryptocurrency they intend to cash in. Available for them: BTC, ETH, DAI, DOGE, XLM. AMP, ALGO and RLY. Purchased digital assets can also be spent without commission.

The announcement of the debit card for US residents took place in October 2020. In June 2021, Coinbase added support for Apple Pay.

Recall that users in the UK accessed the Coinbase Card in April 2019. A few months later, the company issued a card for residents of Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Ireland and the Netherlands.

Visa previously reported that Visa cryptocurrency cardholders spent $2.5 billion in October-December 2021.

According to Visa, the number of crypto card partners has increased from 56 to 65, including Coinbase, Circle, FTX, Bakkt and BlockFi. The number of merchants accepting digital assets has reached almost 100 million.

According to a study by Mastercard, 40% of payment system users plan to use digital money in 2022.
