John Hawkins, a professor at the University of Canberra, who advocates the latter view, said:

Half of the experts believe that eventually bitcoin will be replaced by a more advanced blockchain than its most popular cryptocurrency location. 38% are confident that digital gold will survive.
“Ethereum can outperform BTC in terms of market cap. Solana becomes the main hub for on-chain derivatives. Bitcoin is not a technology-enhancing blockchain. “When you look at it, it’s just a cryptocurrency,” said Ganesh Kompella, co-founder of Tykhe Block Ventures.
The assets mentioned by the expert made up the three most profitable coins in 2022, according to the group’s expectations.
Experts were asked to name the five most influential cryptocurrencies. 87% of respondents included Ethereum. Bitcoin was in second place – 71%, in third – Solana with 55%. Avalanche and Terra complete the top 5 with 31% and 30% respectively.
