Startup SNACKCLUB, affiliated with Brazilian esports team LOUD, has closed a $9 million round of startup funding, project representatives told ForkLog.

Funds raised from the mechanism and other investors will be used to launch the DAO with a focus on “redefining ownership in the games.”

The round also featured Animoca Brands, Ascension Assets, Formless Capital, Jump Crypto, OP Crypto and Shima Capital.

SNACKCLUB’s mission is to inform players from developing countries about the coming of age. game fi and related opportunities. Its creators stressed that the new format could have a real impact on the incomes and lives of people in Latin America and Southeast Asia.

LOUD has an audience of 300 million people. SNACKCLUB hopes supporters of the esports team will join the burgeoning community of blockchain gamers.

The organization will introduce the community to new games, assets and development teams. Over time, users will begin to make strategic decisions regarding the use of game concepts and mechanics.

A vote is also expected on investment in blockchain platforms, game developers, and project development efforts. Anyone over the age of 18 can become a member of the DAO. There is no entry fee.

Most ownership and control of SNACKCLUB will belong to the community. By the end of the year, the company’s founders and investors will complete the development of the organization’s strategic vision.

Recall that Newzoo analysts predicted that P2E models in games will become more common due to the desire of developers to diversify their sources of income.

According to DappRadar, $1 billion was invested in infrastructure and blockchain gaming in the GameFi segment in January, a quarter of the total amount for 2021.

In February 2022, venture accelerator Brinc and NFT gaming operator Animoca Brands launched the Guild Accelerator Program to support GameFi guilds.
