The head of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, Igor Krasnov, said that digital currencies should be included in the criminal code in order to investigate cases of theft and the possibility of arrest. It reads “TASS”.

According to Krasnov, the number of crimes using virtual assets has increased:

“In this context, I think that restrictive measures against digital currencies should be introduced and included in criminal and criminal procedure legislation in terms of the possibility of them being recognized as the subject of infringement.”

Recall that last year the Attorney General’s Office proposed to equate Cryptocurrencies with ownership for production under the Criminal Code.

Krasnov reported that his department is preparing regulations that will allow for the criminal recognition and confiscation of digital assets.
