From the late 90s to the 2010s, Winamp has been unconditionally the most popular application for listening to music from internet cafes and computers in our homes. Sometimes when they share that legendary interface on social media as nostalgia, we always go back to the past.

That interface is of course now obsolete, no longer usable. It seems that Winamp has realized how valuable it is in people’s eyes and that the old interface and operating system will no longer work because we are faced with it. a brand new Winamp comes.

Winamp comes to Android with a big refresh, but it won’t be what you expect

Now owned by a company called Llama Group, Winamp is back with a brand new online app that looks nothing like the original version. Remastered version of Winamp, It will have a system similar to that of Spotify or Apple Music. Instead of subscribing to the service to access Winamp’s entire library of songs, You can subscribe individually to the artists you want and support them in this way.

This new Winamp is actually A mix of Patreon and Spotify we can say. The library of the application is currently not very large. Artists available in the app, catalogs of them all a payment of $1 per month A group of independent European and Vietnamese bands and singers that can be reached

If you’re into indie music, it might make sense for now, but nothing very popular just yet. You’ll also eventually be able to play locally downloaded music and connect to other music streaming services as well. Winamp does exactly this. although it is not sold as a beta the app feels unfinished from the moment you sign up.
