April marks the fourth month in a row that crypto-ATM installation rates around the world have dropped. This is evidenced by data from Coin ATM Radar.

Most devices appeared in August 2021 – 2037 units. This happened against the backdrop of the upcoming legalization of bitcoin in El Salvador. At the time of writing, there are 204 crypto ATMs in the country.

In December 2021, 1969 machines were installed in the world, and since January 2022 the indicator began to decline – 1687 new ATMs appeared this month. February – 970, March – 757, April – 739.

There are currently 37,052 devices in the world.

The dominant manufacturer is Genesis Coin, which holds 41.5% of the market. It is followed by General Bytes (21.6%), BitAccess (15.2%) and Coinsource (5.3%).

The top 10 operators operate more than half of working bitcoin ATMs (69.9%). The top three – Bitcoin Depot, CoinCloud and CoinFlip – share more than 9% of the total.

Recall that in January, analysts from Grand View Research predicted that the crypto-ATM market will grow to $1.88 billion by 2028.
