Motorola launched the Edge 40 smartphone in Europe earlier this year and has now announced the device’s launch date in India. According to the brand’s official Twitter account in India, Motorola Edge 40 will be launched on May 23. A teaser released by the company reveals that the phone will be offered in green and will be sold via Flipkart.

A site has also appeared on Flipkart that reveals all the key details about the Edge 40. The Motorola Edge 40 smartphone, whose official launch date in India is set for May 23, has a 6.55-inch OLED display with FHD + resolution and 144 refresh rate. Hz. speed, 1200 nits maximum brightness and in-display fingerprint scanner. The device is also IP68 certified for water and dust protection and has dual stereo speakers configured with Dolby Atmos technology.

On the back of the device is a square-shaped camera module with a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization and a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens. Meanwhile, the front camera is a 32-megapixel selfie camera.

Hardware-wise, Motorola Edge 40 is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chipset, 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The device is powered by a 4400mAh battery that supports 68W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. The smartphone comes out of the box with Android 13. The device will be available in three colors: Eclypse Black, Nebula Green and Lunar Blue.

The prices of the device are still kept secret, but it is worth noting that in Europe the smartphone costs 550 euros for the only 8 GB + 256 GB variant. Considering that these devices are generally more expensive in Europe, the Edge 40 is expected to be relatively cheaper in India.
