The iQOO Neo 8 and 8 Pro will debut on May 23 as the latest mid-range models from Vivo’s subsidiary. The phones will have powerful chipsets that are said to be MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ in the Pro model and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 in the standard. However, it has now been confirmed that the phones have a special imaging chip to help share the load. They will take the Vivo V1+ chipset under the hood and support an impressive 144Hz refresh rate.

The iQOO Neo 8 series will receive the V1+ chip of the Vivo X80 series

BBK brands have been focusing on developing their own chipsets lately. Oppo has launched the MariSilicon X chipset with the Find X5 series, while Vivo has introduced its own dedicated chipset lineup, including the latest Vivo V2. However, Oppo has shut down its proprietary chip, which means the company can no longer manufacture chips.

While the iQOO Neo 8 phones don’t have the parent company’s latest imaging chip, they certainly take advantage of the V1+ chip found in the Vivo X80 smartphones as well. It is claimed that the V1+ can shoot night shots in conditions where the ambient light is less than 1 lux. The chip received 32MB of SRAM and 8GB/s data transfer rate. Increases image brightness by 16% and white balance accuracy by 12%.

Additionally, iQOO revealed with a teaser that the Neo 8 and Neo 8 Pro smartphones will support 144Hz refresh rate. Both smartphones will be launched in China on May 23.
